Watermelon Granita

This Easy 4 ingredient granita recipe is best for your summer party, it is sweet, fruity, and just like eating snow! This is all you need for this summer!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Watermelon (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 cup water.

Instructions

  1. Peel the skin of the watermelon and dice into cubes.
  2. Add sugar and water to the saucepan and heat up just to melt.
  3. To a blender, add watermelon pieces, mint leaves. Lemon juice, sugar water mixture.
  4. Puree for a few seconds. ( you can also strain them in mesh colander)
  5. Pour watermelon juice to a freezer safer container. Freeze them for 2 hours.
  6. Remove and scrape the frozen sides using a fork and place it back in the freezer. Repeat this process for 2 or 3 times to scrape every 2 hours until the mixer is completely frozen.
  7. Watermelon granita is ready to be served.

Notes

TIPS:

Strain the puree: To get the smooth texture of the watermelon granite, you can Strain the watermelon puree inmost colander.
Sugar or sweeter is added as per your preference.

Sugar syrup -Boiling the sugar and water just to dissolve the sugar, gives you the right consistency for proper freezing.

Flavors: There are so many variations in granita, for this recipe you can add cardamom powder/vanilla essence/cinnamon powder to enhance the flavor.

Scraping: Scrape the granita using a fork and repeat the process to freeze and scrape until all the parts of the mixer are frozen.
