Tips to make the best Pineapple Upside Down Cake:
1. Whether you use cake flour or all-purpose flour, make sure that you sift it before adding it into the cake mixture. This ensures that there are no lumps and the batter is easier to mix.
2. Flip the cake into the serving tray about 5 minutes after you remove it from the oven. Allowing it to stay in the baking dish for long causes the pineapple to stick to the base and sides of the baking dish.
3. Unlike normal cake batter, the batter for the pineapple upside-down cake is quite thick. Scoop it into the baking dish and do not pour it as it will displace the pineapple slices and cherries on the bottom.
4. Once you arrange the pineapple slices with the butter-brown sugar mixture at the bottom of the baking dish, allow it to cool and settle for a few minutes before adding the batter. This will ensure that the slices are set and won’t squirm around when you add the cake batter on it.
