This Palak Paneer recipe is healthy, packed with Nutritious, hearty and satisfying comfort food! The texture is SO SO creamy and its a classic comforting recipe!
1 bunch of palak (spinach)
1 cup of paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tomatoes (puree)
2 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
4 Dry red chillies
3 garlic pods
3 ginger pieces
1 teaspoon peppercorns
To a pan, add butter and spinach stir fry for few seconds. Add into a blender and grind to a fine puree. You may also add 1/4 cup water to puree.
To the same pan, add butter, add cumin seed. Let it sizzle for a few seconds.
Meanwhile, grind dry red chillies, peppercorns, ginger and garlic, Sprinkle little water and grind to a fine puree. Add to the pan, Stir and cook for 3 mins till the raw smell disappears.
Add tomato puree, stir and cook for 5 mins.
Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Stir and cook till the raw smell of the gravy disappears.
Add spinach puree.
Stir and cook for 2 mins.
Add the cubed paneer. Cover and cook for a few more. Add some fresh cream on top. Give a quick mix and serve!
Palak paneer is ready to be served!
Tips to make the best palak paneer recipe:
Paneer/cottage cheese: Cottage cheese is widely available in India, if you live in abroad it is available in Asian section in the grocery store. Use good quality paneer for best results. Spinach: Get a tender and firm spinach. I usually saute the spinach in butter to enhance the flavour.
Grind the masala: The ingredients “ under grind “ has to grind to a very fine consistency that helps to get a smoothy palak paneer.
