What is Pico de Gallo?

Pico de Gallo is the type of salsa that originates from Mexico also called salsa fresca or salsa cruda made from fresh tomato, onion, jalapeño, salt and lemon juice.

What is the difference between Pico de Gallo and salsa?

Pico de Gallo is chunky, it is the mixture of chopped tomato, onions, lime juice, coriander leaves. Where the salsa has a thinner consistency with more liquid.

How long does pico de Gallo last?

Pico de Gallo will last approximately last 3 to 4 days if refrigerator in the well-sealed container. Over time it turns quite mushy.

How to make Mexican Pico De Gallo:

Take a bowl, add chopped tomato
chopped onion and tomato are taken in small mixing bowl
Add onion
corn is being added to chopped onions in small mixing bowl
Add corns
jalapeno, corn, onion and tomato are in small mixing bowl
Add chopped jalapeno
coriender leaves and salt are in small mixing bowl
Add chopped coriender leaves and salt
lemon juice is being added to mixing bowl that has coriender leaves
Add lime juice

Mix well. Refrigerate for 15 mins before you serve.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 tbs Jalapeño
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbs Corn
  • 2 tbs Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Salt

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Refrigerate for 10 minutes and then serve.
