Description
This fresh, healthy and wonderfully delicious hummus recipe is super easy to make, so creamy! Perfect for a party, snacks or dips!
Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpeas
- 2 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Homemade Tahini
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tbs cold water
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
- (Soak chickpeas for 8 hours preferably overnight)
- Firstly pressure cook the chickpeas for 5 to 6 whistles and drained out the water.
- when you press the chickpeas it should be easily mashed, that is the right consistency the chickpeas have been cooked.
- To a food processor, add minced garlic,Squeeze some lemon juice,Add in some Homemade tahini sauce,Add in crushed cumin, pulse for few seconds.
- Then add cooked chickpeas
- Pulse for a few seconds, till everything incorporate. Scrape down, pulse for few seconds. Add 2 tbs of cold water, pulse again.
- Pulse till you get the creamy Hummus recipe
Notes
Tips to make the best Hummus:
Chickpeas: a) Canned Chickpeas: Cook the canned chickpeas for 30 mins. To get mushy consistency chickpeas.
Chickpeas from scratch: Soak the chickpeas overnight for 8 hours adding 1tsp of baking soda that helps to soften the skin, then rinse the water and pressure for 4 to 5 whistles until the chickpeas are mushy.
Tahini: Check my Tahini Recipe to gives you flavor to hummus. Homemade tahini is best in making hummus.
Ice cold water: Adding cold water to make hummus eventually get the creamiest Hummus recipe ever!
Olive oil: Use good quality olive oil to get the flavourful hummus.
