 Grilled Garlic Shrimp is the one the simplest, easiest, most satisfying meal that taste gourmet. The flavour combinations of fennel seeds and garlic are simply bursting with flavour. This garlic shrimp is amazingly goes well with tomato garlic dip. Skewered shrimp sprinkled with chopped coriender leaves served in blue plate with tomato dip aside.

This garlic prawn is moist, tender and juicy. Ultimately easy and its a copy-cat recipe from the restaurant I tried very recent-time

The most dominant flavour of shrimp is fennel seeds and garlic and marinating makes this utmost juicy.

Also, I made luscious tomato garlic dip from the same pan which has taken all the exploding flavour that makes this recipe an excellent starter.

  Simply Easy: Making grilled shrimp is can’t be easier than this. All you need to grind the marinade and marinate for a few minutes and grill.

Mind-blowing flavours: When you make this recipe, you really want to make it Again and Again! You really wonder how the simple ingredients give you the exotic taste and flavour.

Under 20 mins: From marinade to grill along with tomato garlic dip all it just takes 20 mins.

How long does the shrimp take time to cook?

Depending on the size, Once the shrimp turns pink it’s done. It might take to 2 to 3 mins.

How long can you marinate shrimp?

You can marinate the shrimp from 10 mins to overnight in the refrigerator

Can I grill garlic shrimp in the oven?

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F/200 Degree C. Place the shrimp skewers in the baking sheet. Roast just until pink, it would take  5 to 6 mins.

What can be served with grilled garlic shrimp?

This can be served with tomato garlic dip ( I shared the recipe below, check my step by step pictures) or mayonnaise, chilli sauce.

Can I use frozen prawns?

Yes, Of course. Having frozen prawns are so handy and convenient when you crave to have shrimp at any time.
Thaw the frozen prawns and follow the same procedure.

How to make grilled garlic shrimp:

Ingredients to make grilled garlic prawns are taken in small glass bowls and plate

Ingredients are taken to make grilled Garlic prawn

A plate of ingredients and blender jar is taken

These are the ingridents to grind, i have taken garlic, fennel seeds, chilli flakes, pepper corns, salt

garlic and fennel seeds are being added to blender jar
Add in to the blender
ground masala mix in a blender jar
Grind to a fine paste by adding 1 tbs of water
Ground masala mix is being added to the shrimps taken in white glass bowl
Add the grounded paste to the prawns
Lemon juice is taken in small glass bowl is being poured over the shrimps in the bowl
Add lemon juice
oil is being poured to the shrimps taken in white glass bowl
Add some oil
Salt is being added to shrimps which is kept in white glass bowl
Add required amount of salt
shrimps with masala is taken in white glass bowl
Mix well and let it marinate for 10mins
Shrimps are threaded in skewers and kept in small plate
Thread all the marinated prawns/shrimp in skewers
skewered shrimps are kept in saute pan
Heat up some oil in pan, place the skewers and cook for 2 mins
Skewered shrimps are being sauted in pan
Flip on the other side and cook for another 2 to 3 mins until the prawns/shrimp are nicely cooked

How to make quick Tomato Garlic Dip for Grilled Garlic Prawns:

Flavoured water is taken in saute pan
In the same pan, add 1/2 cup of water to de-glaze
Flavoured water is being boiled in saute pan
Bring to bowl
garlic, chilli paste and tomato sauce is being added to the saute pan
Add chopped garlic, tomato paste, chilli paste, pepper powder and oregano, salt.
Stir well using a ladle
keep stirring for few minutes
A bowl of cornflour mix is being poured to pan
Now dilute cornflour in water in small bowl. quickly mix in, keep stirring until you get the saucy consistency.

Grilled prawn with Tomato dip is ready to be served.

Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 kg Shrimp/prawn
  • 1 tbs Fennel seeds
  • 10 pods Garlic
  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp Pepper corns
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbs Oil

To make tomato garlic sauce:

  • 1 tbs Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbs Chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tbs Cornflour
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Clean and Devine the shrimp
  2. Grind Garlic, fennel seeds, chilli flakes, pepper corns, salt and 2 tbs of water to a very fine paste
  3. Add the ground masala to shrimp, add lemon juice and oil. Marinate for 10 mins.
  4. Thread the marinated prawns/shrimp in skewers and keep aside.
  5. Heat up oil in saute pan, place the skewers and cook for 3 mins on each side until the shrimp turns pink color.
  6. Remove the skewers from the pan and keep aside.

To make tomato garlic dip:

  1. To the same pan, add 1/2 to 1 cup of water to De-glaze, to absorb all the flavors.
  2. Bring to boil for 1 or 2 mins.
  3. And then, Add tomato sauce, chili paste, pepper powder, oregano and salt.
  4. Keep stirring for couple of minutes.
  5. Quickly mix cornflour with water, add in to the pan.
  6. Stir continuously to get saucy consistency that would take 1 or 2 mins.
  7. Serve Tomato Garlic dip with grilled garlic prawns.

Notes

1.Can I grill garlic shrimp in oven?
