  • Basmati Rice- 1 cup
  • oil- 1 tbs
  • Garlic- 4
  • Chillies-1
  • Onion- 1
  • Chilli garlic Sauce- 1 1/2 tsp
  • Vinegar- 11/2 tsp
  • Soya sauce- 1 1/2 tsp
  • Carrot- 1
  • capsicum- 2
  • Salt- to taste

These all the veggies I’m gonna add in the fried rice. Keep them ready because we are going to cook the fried rice in high flame throughout the entire process.

Heat up the wok, add in oil

Add finely chopped garlic and green chillies, saute them for 10 seconds! You can smell the lovely aroma of garlic!

In goes the thinly sliced onions,

Saute them for a minute, keep stirring otherwise it might turn brown.

Add in carrots.

Next in goes our sliced, bell pepper/capsicum

Saute all the veggies in the high flame!! You could also use cabbage, cauliflower , peas anything of your favourite.

Now, its time to add chilli-garlic sauce, Vinegar, Soya Sauce.

Give a good mix to them.

Add in Pepper powder depends on your spice level!!

Keep sauting them for a minute.

I had taken 1 cup of basmati rice added 1 spoon of oil while cooking the basmati.

  2. Yummy looking! I love fried rice. I’ve never added oil to basmati rice when it cooks. What is the purpose please Nithya? Thank you for stopping by my blog btw!

    1. Hi Glad to see your comment. For fried rice we want our rice to be Non-sticky. Adding oil to basmati Rice while cooking It makes the rice non-sticky.
