Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Toor dal
- 1onion
- 1 tomato
- 2 green chilli
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1teaspoon salt
- 2.5 cups of water.
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
For seasoning:
- 1 Tablespoon ghee (clarified Butter)
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 6 garlic pods
- 3 dry red chilli
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida
Instructions
- Wash Toor dal for a couple of time, add to the pressure cooker.
- Add sliced onion, chopped tomato, green chilli, curry leaves, turmeric powder, and salt. Add 2.5 cups of water and pressure cook for 4 to 5 hisses.
- Release the pressure naturally! Then, using balloon whisk mix the dal till they are lightly creamy. Add sugar and stir.
- For tadka:
- Heat ghee in a small tadka pan, add cumin seeds, crushed garlic, dry red chilli, curry leaves. Stir for a minute.
- Add the seasonings to the dal. Mix and serve.
