Ingredients
- Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg chicken
- 1 onion
- 1 green chili
- 1 tbs Ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbs coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 cups of coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- For Onion Tomato Masala:
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 onion
- 1/2 tbs ginger-garlic paste
- 1 to mato
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 2 tsp salt
Instructions
For marination:
- To a mixing bowl, add chicken, curry leaves, sliced onion, chopped green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Rub all the spices on the chicken and marinate for 10 to 15 mins. You can also marinate for 30mins as well.
- To a deep pan, heat up coconut milk, add marinated chicken and cook for 10 mins over medium heat. Turn off the heat and transfer to a bowl.
For onion Tomato masala
- To the same pan, add 1.5tbs of coconut oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves, chopped onions. Cook the onions till they are translucent.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 2 to 3mins until the raw smell disappears.
- Add chopped tomato cook till the tomatoes turn mushy.
- Add chili powder and Garam Masala and salt cook further for 3 mins.
- Now add the cooked chicken along with the coconut milk.
- Cover and cook for 10 mins until the oil appears on top.
