Chicken kolhapuri


  • Chicken- 500 gms
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • oil- 4 tsp
  • onions- 3 medium size
  • Lemon juice- 1 tsp
  • Coconut- 4 tbs
  • cinnamon- 2 small sticks
  • cloves- 3 to 4
  • elachi- 2
  • Dry red chillies- 5 to 6( according to ur spice level)
  • Coriander leaves- 1 and 1/2 tsp


  1. Heat up oil in the pan , add in chicken, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, salt cover with lid and cook for 5 to 10 mins, the chicken cooks on it own water..
  2. Meanwhile, heat up the small pan , add in oil, all the grinding ingredients and saute until it turns light golden brown and keep it aside let it cools down
  3. Grind all the roasted ingredients by adding little water..
  4. After 10 mins, add the grinded paste into the chicken, sprinkle some water cover it with lid.
  5. Let the masala cooks well!!!! After 10 mins.. the oil oozes out..
  6. Switch off the stove, squeeze some lemon juice!! sprinkle some coriander leaves.
