  • Shrimp: The whole flavor of bang bang shrimp Pasta Recipe is in the shrimp!
  • Get the fresh prawns for a better taste and flavor.
  • You may use any size prawns /shrimp for this recipe. As the size increase, it will be taken more minutes to cook and you can tell when the prawns cooked as they will turn to a pink color and half curve shape.
  1. For medium-sized prawns, it takes 3 to 4 minutes to cook.
  2. Large shrimp, it will take 5 to 6 minutes and
  3. Jumbo prawns 7 to 8 minutes.
  • Garlic: Mince the garlic finely and slowly stir fry them in butter.
  • Butter: I have used unsalted butter so that you can control the amount of salt.
  • Seasonings: I have used chilli flakes, paprika.

  • Melt butter in a pan, add minced garlic stir fry for few seconds. (Photo 1)
  • Season with chili flakes, paprika, salt. (photo 2)
  • Stir in the shrimp, cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle chopped parsley. Transfer to separate bowl and set aside. (photo 3 & 4)

  • Pasta: You can use any pasta like angel hair pasta, penne, fettuccini, pappardelle, ziti, campanile they carry the sauce well and gives you the delightful texture to the sauce, and Cook the pasta according to package instruction.
  • Garlic: As you all know, I love garlic and I’m a huge fan of this divine ingredient. Here the minced garlic is infused in butter that gives you the much-enhanced flavor to the Pasta sauce. You can prefer garlic powder as well, but the real stuff is much much better.
  • Butter: I have used unsalted butter so that you can control the amount of salt.
  • Heavy Cream /Half and Half: I have used a simple heavy cream that is easily available in any supermarket. They are not fancy, pantry-friendly ingredients so that you can make your cajun shrimp Pasta without Fuss.
  • Tomato sauce: Tomato sauce gives you a mild tanginess to the sauce. You may use tomato paste as well. 
  • Thai sweet Chilli Sauce: Asian sweet chilli sauce mean the same thing that can be found in asian aisle. Its a dynamic balance of sweet & heat.

  • Melt butter to the same pan, add the minced ginger and garlic. Stir fry for a few seconds. ( Photo 5)
  • Stir in the  paprika, pepper powder, salt. (photo 6)
  • Stir in sweet chili sauce, tomato sauce, lemon juice mix together to combine. (Photo 7)

  • Add in the fresh cream and mix well, Toss the cooked shrimp in the bang bang sauce to coat well. (Photos 8,9,10 11)
  • Finally, stir in the cooked spaghetti & mix well. (Photo 12)

Top Tips: 

  1. Do not overcook the pasta, it should be in al-dente. Cook pasta according to the package instructions.
  2. Cook the pasta in salted water that helps to flavor the pasta.
  3. Use the same pan to make pasta that has been used to cook shrimp. We don’t want to miss out on any flavors.
  4. Slowly cook the garlic in butter that helps the butter to get infused in garlic.
  5. If you want more creamy, add cream to get the desired consistency also check for the seasoning

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup shrimp ( peeled & deveined)
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 4 garlic cloves 
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes 
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley 
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 

 

To make the sauce: 

 

  • 2 teaspoon butter 
  • 6 garlic cloves 
  • 1 teaspoon ginger 
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice 
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream 
  • 2 tablespoon sweet chili sauce 
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce 

To serve: 

150 grams pasta (spaghetti)


Instructions

To cook Pasta: 

Cook your pasta according to package instructions. 

To make shrimp: 

 

  1. Melt butter in a pan, add minced garlic stir fry for few seconds. 
  2. Season with chili flakes, paprika, salt.
  3. Stir in the shrimp, cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle chopped parsley. Transfer to separate bowl and set aside. 

To make Bang Bang Sauce: 

 

 

  1. Melt butter to the same pan, add the minced ginger and garlic. Stir fry for a few seconds. 
  2. Stir in the  paprika, pepper powder, salt.
  3. Stir in sweet chili sauce, tomato sauce, lemon juice, mix together to combine. 
  4. Add in the fresh cream and mix well, Toss the cooked shrimp in the bang bang sauce to coat well. 
  5. Finally, stir in the cooked spaghetti & mix well. 

 

Notes
